Words Dance is a digital poetry magazine, publishing a stirring mix of handpicked poetry written by established & budding poets of the present.
Poetry that makes love to your mind, leaves you winded & goose-bumped. Rich, edgy & raw, gentle, sensual & brimming with love - poetry wild enough to get dressed up in its finest attire before it goes out to slay the mind. You dig?
This is me continuing my dance on the editorial floor, establishing a ballroom within, to share with new spectators the poems & poets that mean the most to me while inviting more of you to share your moves. I have a feeling it's gonna be one helluva party, I hope you join us either by submitting, reading or sharing!
Words Dance is here to be a digital crusader for a community of impassioned poets & artists who will rock your fuckin' world. Period.
For those of you that are new here, Words Dance has a little bit of a history.
Over the last 4 years I've taken two hiatuses from publishing, both after each of my beautiful boys were born. Poetry has always been a huge part of my heart, when I am writing & reading poetry, I am in my element, it's a passion of mine that I can't ignore for long... so here we are.

Hi, I'm Amanda, curator of Words Dance
Created in 2003, Words Dance started as a quarterly webzine & every issue was freely accessible on the web. In 2005, after the 6th issue, I made the decision to steer it into a biannual print magazine & start my own press : Verve Bath Press. That's when the journey of connecting with my poetry tribe began, poets near & dear to my heart, poets who's work blew my mind & their souls lit up my life. Turning out a biannual journal packed with some of the finest poetry of our day was just crazy-good, I still had an itch though, I wanted to strengthen Verve Bath's arsenal, so I started to create handmade chapbooks, a few of my own, along with 6 other incredible word wranglers. You can browse through the archive of photos here, they include behind the scenes photos of all of the books being created. When I was making poetry books, I would get that feeling, you know the one, like THIS is what I am supposed to be doing, right here, right now. Passion pumping through my veins, smile across my face, making books was my bliss. My second little guy came along & it was just impossible to make books, run Kind Over Matter & be a good mama. Something had to give & I chose the one that took away most of my time.
With time & permission though, I hope to republish most of those gems, digitally.
I'm excited to continue the journey here, in this form. Thank you so much for being here & believing in Words Dance... because they do.
Love,
